sorry for the excessive posting in the last few days... i hope you're reading them in order (bottom up)... i even held off all last night and all day today, just to give you all a little time... not that it probably makes a difference. anyway, i'm still trying to catch up from my week off for chusoek... here's thursday.
kat and i left ulsan around noon and arrived in gimhae around 3:45... we had to chill at my place for a while but then we hit up yeonji park (where i met chris and lois) since i already posted some pics of it, i'll spare you and only put up this one:
of course, we did discover a hedge maze (is that what it's called?) and i took a little video of the inside...
this is a jacket that was on sale on a street corner... look familiar? it's the huge mountain!after wandering through the park, we found a restaurant - the fish and grill - where we ordered what we thought was bulgogi (hot beef)... of course, the side dishes come first and at this place it consisted of a fried egg... at your table. the little plate is brought to you steaming hot and the waiter cracks the egg over it, salts it, and lets you do the rest... we also got a really yummy fish soup, some pickles, corn salad, and some weird things that could have been sweet pickled garlic... still out on that one... they were tasty though. of course, i can't forget the pitcher of pink stuff you see below - strawberry soju. i usually stay away from soju (it's evil incarnate) but this was so tasty i couldn't resist. we also tried the watermelon, mango, and passion fruit.

this is what arrived for dinner... it was all kinds of meat mixed together with some veggies and covered in cheese... kind of weird, but really quite tasty!
then we went to nuraebang for what i thought was an hour, but kat swears was two... just to work off a little of the two pitchers of soju we'd drank... as soon as we walked out of the building we saw the chicken man store...
a quick stop inside and we discovered they had extra helmets and the employees were nice and let us take pictures with them!!! i'm a chicken man!!!after chicken man we stopped off for a beer at the "beer and girls" - the bar chris and lois told me all the foreigners hango out at, and we met steve:he's been screwed over by about 4-5 employers in as many months (here in korea). he's was out in the middle of nowhere for all that time, and was soooooo happy to meet us, we ended up staying for more than just one beer - more like three pitchers... it was good times. then we went to the 24 hour homeplus at about 1:30 AM only to discover that it was closed. must have been because of chuseok... so we got a cab (my first in gimhae) and actually made it home thanks to my alien registration card, which has my address on it. i was so happy with the driver and the route he took, that i snapped a pic of him:
i called him "best taxi driver" and he loved it! up next friday in gimhae - the homeplus, king suro tomb, more foreigners, and liz cooks korean!
